Statement issued on behalf of SUEZ recycling and recovery UK

In Doncaster, we have lost access to both of the transfer stations we use due to flooding, which means we can only conduct limited waste collections this morning, in areas where it is safe to do so.

As soon as we can regain access to one or both of these transfer stations, we will be able to carry out further collections, but we do not currently know when this will be possible and so disruption to services is very likely.

In Calderdale this morning, the areas of Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd were not safe to access due to flooding. However, we can confirm that our collection crews have now been able to complete all rounds in Calderdale.

We are continuing to assess the situation in Doncaster and will advise when we are able to resume services. We apologise for any inconvenience, but the safety of residents and our collection crews is our number one priority.

We are pleased to say that we managed to complete the scheduled rounds in Calderdale today despite problems caused by flooding.

In Doncaster, we regained access to our depot in the early afternoon today and this allowed us to carry out some collections. We will be deploying crews tomorrow (Saturday 09 November 2019) to try and complete the scheduled collections, although while our aim is to complete as many as we can, we will only be able to collect from properties that we can access with our vehicles.
