Our commercial laboratories are now a Science Council Employer Champion

This collaboration with the Science Council started in 2018, as part of our commitment to our employees and their professional development. The Science Council sets the professional standards for practising scientists and science technicians, independent of scientific discipline. Professional registration with the Science Council proves competence, ability and integrity for someone working in science and demonstrate commitment to keeping their skills and knowledge up to date through continuing professional development (CPD). As an employer the Science Council recognises our Commercial Laboratory Division investing in talent and a commitment towards a high quality application of science. Becoming an Employer Champion shows our commitment to developing our teams and to our customers the quality of work and professionalism of our staff.

As a result of this collaboration, the first group of laboratory technicians and analysts successfully completed their professional registration with the Science Council as Registered Scientist or Chartered Scientist recognising standards of excellence in the practice of science and committing them to continual professional development. The certificates were awarded in a small ceremony, held in our laboratory in the North of the UK, where Simon Turner, Director of the Commercial Laboratories Division and Peter Geuns, Senior Technical Director of Chemical and Monitoring Solutions in Europe, together with the Science Council Chief Executive, congratulated the successful employees.
